General information about Indian Grass (Sorghastrum):Indian Grass (Sorghastrum) is a genus of grasses with beautiful flowers. The yellow stamen are relatively large and hang nicely downwards. Indian Grass originates from the North American prairies. Plant them in the full sun in a dry to normal moist soil. If the soil is too wet or fertile the plants will collapse and also the foliage will not get its normally nice blue/grey colour. Indian Grass is lover by flower arrangers. As neighbour plants for Indian Grass you could use other prairie plants, such as Aster (Aster), Phlox (Phlox), Beebalm (Monarda), Yarrow (Achillea) or Sunflower (Helianthus).Yellow Indian Grass - Sorghastrum nutans 'Indian Steel'
