General information about Stokes' Aster (Stokesia):Stokes' Aster (Stokesia) is a perennial which likes a spot in the full sun and a fertile, well-draining soil. They hate wet feet in the winter. You could plant Stokes' Aster on a 'mole hill' or on a slope. Give the plant some protection in frosty weather. Stokes' Aster flowers quite late in the year and is therefore a good addition to the border, next to for example Hedge Nettle (Stachys), Stonecrop (Sedum) or Cinquefoil (Potentilla). Because of its natural appearance, Stokes' Aster is also good in a natural garden. Butterflies and other insects also know where to find Stokes' Aster.Cornflower Aster - Stokesia laevis 'Blue Star'
