Stokesia

Stokesia - Stokes' Aster

Stokesia is a perennial which likes a spot in the full sun and a fertile, well-draining soil. They hate wet feet in the winter. You could plant Stokesia on a 'mole hill' or on a slope. Give the plant some protection in frosty weather. Stokesia flowers quite late in the year and is therefore a good addition to the border, next to for example Stachys, Sedum or Potentilla. Because of its natural appearance, Stokesia is also good in a natural garden. Butterflies and other insects also know where to find Stokesia.
