Summer Snowflake  (Leucojum)

Summer Snowflake (Leucojum) is a bulbous perennial which resembles Snowdrop (Galanthus), but slightly larger and flowers later. Summer Snowflake likes a moist soil, for instance near the pond. After flowering Summer Snowflake disappears underground till the next spring. Planted as bulbs they sometimes struggle to establish. This is why we sell them rooted in pots. It may take a couple of years before Summer Snowflake forms a small clump, but once established it will slowly spread. Summer Snowflake looks good planted together with Shooting Star (Dodecatheon) and Snake's Head Fritillary (Fritillaria meleagris).
