Taubnessel  (Lamium)

Die Gattung Taubnessel ist nah mit der Goldnessel verwandt. Letztere kann wegen der langen Ausläufer gut als Bodendecker verwendet werden. Die Pflanzen der Gattung Taubnessel bleiben kompakter und bilden dichte Flächen, wodurch sie prima vorne im (Halb-)Schattenbeet genutzt werden können. Ein sonnigerer Standort ist möglich, dann muss der Boden aber ausreichend feucht sein. Die Blätter der Taubnessel haben oft eine schöne Zeichnung oder Farbe. Auch die Blüten sehen mit den violetten, rosa oder weißen Lippenblüten prächtig aus. Die Taubnessel kann gut mit z. B. Hirschzungenfarn (Asplenium scolopendrium), Herzblume (Dicentra), Elfenblume (Epimedium) und Funkie (Hosta) kombiniert werden.

Dead Nettle combines well with Tongue Fern (Asplenium scolopendrium), Bleeding Heart (Dicentra), Barrenwort (Epimedium) and Hosta (Hosta).
