Teucrium

Teucrium - Germander

Teucrium is a varied genus of ever green and deciduous (half) shrubs and perennials. Some have scented flowers and leaves. Teucrium attracts a lot of insects, especially Teucrium hyrcanicum. This species is a perfect border plant, next to for example Achillea, Solidago and Geranium. The lower species are better suited as ground covers, edge plant or as small hedge. There, they will combine nicely with plants with grey leaves such as Dianthus gratianopolitanus, Stachys byzantina and low growing Artemisia. Teucrium likes a spot in the sun to light shade in a normal to dry soil, preferably with some lime.
