Titanotrichum

Titanotrichum - Oldham's Gold Woodland Foxglove

Titanotrichum is an unknown genus of plants from Asia. In autumn Titanotrichum has beautiful warm yellow flowers which look a bit like Digitalis. Titanotrichum is not the easiest to get in bloom and is fussy about its location, especially concerning water needs. Because Titanotrichum is also not fully hardy with us it is much better to grow them in a large pot with good compost. Stand the pot on a large saucer in which some water sits all through the summer. In winter, bring the pot inside and keep drier. If you witch to plant Titanotrichum outside in the garden, make sure water will drain away properly in winter and protect them against any frost. As far as light is concerned, half shade is best.
