General information about Spiderwort (Tradescantia):
Spiderwort (Tradescantia) is an old-fashioned plant with grass like leaves and unusual flowers. A nice development is the fact that in the last few years a lot of nice new cultivars have appeared. A characteristic of Spiderwort is that every single flower only blooms for one day, but many flowers are produced over a long period. Spiderwort likes a spot in the sun or half shade in a normal to moist soil. Spiderwort fits nicely into a natural planting and combines well with Sedge (Carex), Burnet (Sanguisorba), Blazing Star (Liatris) and Mint (Mentha). Also in a vase Spiderwort does well.
