Tüpfelfarn  (Polypodium)

Tüpfelfarn ist eine Gattung meist kleiner Farne mit gefiederten oder doppelt gefiederten Wedeln. Die neuen Wedel des Tüpfelfarns bilden sich mitten im Sommer und erst dann sterben die alten Wedel ab. Die Farne sind also wintergrün. Tüpfelfarn ist ein robuster Farn für Sonne und Halbschatten auf einem trockenen bis mäßig feuchten Boden. Viel Humus im Boden sorgt für ein reiches Wachstum. Kombinieren Sie den Tüpfelfarn u. a. mit Elfenblume (Epimedium) und Japan-Segge (Carex morrowii) mit gestreiften Blättern.

General information about Polypody (Polypodium):
Polypody (Polypodium) is a genus of usually small ferns with lobed, sometimes crested leaves. The new leaves do not form until after the summer and keep doing so throughout the winter, so they are evergreen. They will have a rest period in summer. Polypody is a strong fern for in the sun or half shade in dry to normal soil. Plenty of humus in the soil will ensure plenty of foliage. Polypody spreads steadily by means of underground creeping rhizomes and will slowly form a mat. Polypody combines nicely with Barrenwort (Epimedium) and striped Japanese Sedge (Carex morrowii).
