General information about Barren Strawberry (Waldsteinia):
Barren Strawberry (Waldsteinia) belongs to a genus of semi ever green ground covers. They are strong plants well suited to cover large, difficult areas. Barren Strawberry prefers a place in half shade in normal soil, but less favourable locations are also tolerated, such as under shrubs and trees. You can, if you so wish, cut away the old leaves early in spring to give the plant a whole fresh look. Once established and grown out, Barren Strawberry forms a dense, low maintenance ground cover which also suppresses weeds well. Nice partner plants for Barren Strawberry are Rock Cranesbill (Geranium macrorrhizum), Great Forget-me-not (Brunnera) and Lily of the Valley (Convallaria).
