Weißwurz  (Polygonatum)

Weißwurz ist eine Gattung langsam wachsender Waldstauden. Die Weißwurz treibt mit langen Stängeln aus dem Boden aus, bei den meisten Arten hängen die Triebe über. An der Unterseite bildet die Weißwurz in den Blattachseln hängende Blüten, aus denen kleine Beeren werden. Die meisten Weißwurz-Arten gedeihen im (Halb-)Schatten auf humusreichem Boden. Mehr Sonne ist möglich, aber dann muss der Boden ausreichend feucht sein. Die Blätter der Weißwurz bekommen oft eine prächtige gelbe Herbstfärbung. Für eine schöne Kombination können Sie z. B. Farne, Funkien, Berggras (Hakonechloa) und Brauner Storchschnabel (Geranium phaeum) neben die Weißwurz pflanzen.
