Borage  (Borago)

Borage (Borago) is often used as a culinary herb in salads, both the leaves and the flowers. The best known species is Borage officinalis (Cucumber herb or borage). Most Borage species have beautiful blue flowers and attract many bees and bumblebees. The flowers of Borage can be used to turn vinegar blue. Borage lives for a short time, sometimes only 1 year, but often self-seeds well. Borage likes a good soil in a spot in the sun or partial shade.
