Golden Seal  (Hydrastis)

Golden Seal (Hydrastis) is a genus of slow-growing plants whose roots were and still are used for medicinal purposes. A yellow dye can also be made from the roots of Golden Seal. Golden Seal is a forest plant and therefore likes to be in the (semi) shade. The soil should be on the moist side, but not swampy. After Golden Seal has flowered, the plant develops raspberry-like red berries.
