Blue Chrysanthemum  (Heteropappus)

Blue Chrysanthemum (Heteropappus) is a genus of only a few species from Asia. The flowers are very Aster (Aster) like. Blue Chrysanthemum is still relatively unknown in the garden. Hopefully this will change soon as they are very useful as they do not flower till the autumn. Even in bad weather Blue Chrysanthemum will show its flowers. Plant them in the sun and in normal soil. Unfortunately, many species of Blue Chrysanthemum are short lived and often fade away after a couple of years. Do not let this discourage you as its rich flowering makes well up for this. Blue Chrysanthemum also attract a lot of insects.
