Carrot  (Daucus)

Carrot (Daucus) is a genus of umbel forming plants with tap-roots. The common Carrot originates from wild forms. Also, some species of Carrot are being grown for their ornamental values. These are being used in wild gardens, borders or as cut flowers. Carrot wants a spot in the full sun in normal to dry soil. Best is to always leave a couple of flower stems to self-seed as Carrot usually won't live longer than a few years. The flowers attract lots of insects.
