Leatherleaf Fern (Rumohra) is a genus of ferns with leather like, shiny leaves. Unfortunately, Leatherleaf Fern is not fully hardy with us but with a pack of leaves for extra protection, it is well worth a try. Leatherleaf Fern does well in any decent garden soil in the half shade. The leaves of Leatherleaf Fern are very suited to use in flower arranging and last a long time when cut. Within the genus Leatherleaf Fern is a form with yellow variegated leaves, which is quite rare within ferns.
