Watercress  (Nasturtium)

Watercress (Nasturtium) is a small genus of plants, mainly from the Northern Hemisphere. Also, in Western Europe we have several species of which Nastrium officiale is the best known. They are small plants which mainly grow in or alongside clear water. Watercress is both used in medicine and in the kitchen. The foliage has a fresh, somewhat sharp taste and is good in salads and soups. The leaves taste best before the plant has flowered, so harvest regularly! Plant Watercress in the herb garden within a watertight bucket and ensure the soil is always moist.
